Voting Question: What sporty looking bikes fall in the "standard" class for insurance purposes.?

Voting Question: What sporty looking bikes fall in the "standard" class for insurance purposes.?
I don't want a cruiser. I know the Suzuki Bandit and the 2008 Suzuki SV650 are sporty looking bikes, but don't come with that super high insurance premiums. Can you tell me other models from other makers that look like sport bikes, but don't rape you on insurance. Also I was wondering what the difference is as far as, size, motor, body style etc....

Resolved Question: winners of the Annual Stella Awards?

Resolved Question: winners of the Annual Stella Awards?
The Stella Awards are named after 81 year-old Stella Liebeck of New Mexico who spilled hot coffee on herself and successfully sued McDonald's. That case inspired the Stella awards for the most frivolous, ridiculous, successful lawsuits in the United States. Here are this year's winners: 7th Place: Kathleen Robertson of Austin, Texas, was awarded $80,000 by a jury of her peers after breaking her ankle tripping over a toddler who was running inside a furniture store. The owners of the store were understandably surprised at the verdict, considering the misbehaving little toddler was Ms. Robertson's son. 6th Place: 19-year-old Carl Truman of Los Angeles won $74,000 and medical expenses when his neighbor ran over his hand with a Honda Accord. Mr. Truman apparently didn't notice there was someone at the wheel of the car when he was trying to steal his neighbor's hubcaps. 5th Place: Terrence Dickson of Bristol, Pennsylvania, was leaving a house he had just finished robbing by way of the garage. He was not able to get the garage door to go up since the automatic door opener was malfunctioning. He couldn't re-enter the house because the door connecting the house and garage locked when he pulled it shut. The family was on vacation, and Mr. Dickson found himself locked in the garage for eight days. He subsisted on a case of Pepsi he found, and a large bag of dry dog food. He sued the homeowner's insurance claiming the situation caused him undue mental anguish. The jury agreed to the tune of $500,000. 4th Place: Jerry Williams of Little Rock, Arkansas, was awarded $14,500 and medical expenses after being bitten on the buttocks by his next door neighbor's beagle. The beagle was on a chain in its owner's fenced yard. The award was less than sought because the jury felt the dog might have been just a little provoked at the time by Mr. Williams, who had climbed over the fence into the yard and was shooting it repeatedly with a pellet gun. 3rd Place: A Philadelphia restaurant was ordered to pay Amber Carson of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, $113,500 after she slipped on a soft drink and broke her coccyx (tailbone). The beverage was on the floor because Ms. Carson had thrown it at her boyfriend 30 seconds earlier during an argument. 2nd Place: Kara Walton of Claymont, Delaware, successfully sued the owner of a night club in a neighboring city when she fell from the bathroom window to the floor and knocked out her two front teeth. This occurred while Ms.Walton was trying to sneak through the window in the ladies room to avoid paying the $3.50 cover charge. She was awarded $12,000 and dental expenses. 1st Place: This year's runaway winner was Mrs. Merv Grazinski of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Mrs. Grazinski purchased a brand new 32-foot Winnebago motor home. On her first trip home, (from an OU football game), having driven onto the freeway, she set the cruise control at 70 mph and calmly left the drivers seat to go into the back & make herself a sandwich. Not surprisingly, the RV left the freeway, crashed and overturned. Mrs.Grazinski sued Winnebago for not advising her in the owner's manual that she couldn't actually do this. The jury awarded her $1,750,000 plus a new motor home. The company actually changed their manuals on the basis of this suit, just in case there were any other complete morons around.

Resolved Question: Buying a Used Vehicle in a Private Sale in Ontario !?!?
This is my first time buying a vehicle and I get it tomorrow (Saturday). Its been certified, I did a VIN search on it, and all is well. 1. What documents do I need to get from the individual I am buying it from? 2. What order is best to go in to get it on the road - hopefully tomorrow? In terms of insurance (which I can't get until I get a copy of the ownership into my insurance company, transferring ownership, getting licence plates, etc) Is there any other step(s) that need to be taken? 3. Is it the Motor Vehicle License Bureau I go to, to transfer the ownership, and get plates? 3. How much am I expected to spend on registering the vehicle in my name? 4. What do I need to do to transfer ownership, register the vehicle in my name, and get plates? I don't think I can get Insurance until Monday, but my dad has insurance for his van; would he be able to drive mine home, if I'm able to get all other documentation taken care of?

Resolved Question: Will bankruptcy release a judgment obtained from a car accident caused by a parent's (at time) minor child?

Resolved Question: Will bankruptcy release a judgment obtained from a car accident caused by a parent's (at time) minor child?
It's more involved than just a judgment, but I have to start somewhere. My boyfriend's daughter was a minor child back in1997. Come to find out LAST YEAR, she was involved in an accident in the State of Washington. According to the State of Washington, if you are the parent of a minor and there is a judgment, it falls on the parent; he had left the state by that time, so he was never aware of the judgment, and did not become aware of it till last year. At that time, his driver's license was up for renewal (State of California), and finds out that his license was revoked in the State of Washington. California, not "online" at the time, but "online" now, is going to honor that, so his license is now revoked. He calls the Washington Motor Vehicle Department, who tell him they can't do anything to help him. The woman says (NOT in any professional legal capacity) that maybe bankruptcy might help him. He's driving without a license, and that worries me (no insurance coverage if an accident). I don't know if bankruptcy will actually do anything for him, and I don't know where to start (CA or WA). Thanks for the Chapter 7; wasn't sure, but thought that was what would be appropriate. THE remaining issue would be if, in fact, bankruptcy would discharge the judgment. It is for $30,000. Accident occurred 1997, right after b/f left state (divorce). Daughter never told him it occurred. Judgment was obtained just prior to statue of limitations expiration (2000); b/f NEVER knew it even existed till last year. He's permanently disabled (been on SS since 2004), has no assets that are attachable, in short, untouchable from the judgment point of view. Attorney for plaintiff wouldn't even talk to him reasonably, even after he told him the complete set of circumstances. B/f essentially saying "chuck you farley," but I'd prefer to make it right. Particularly since, in the event of an accident and he's driving, my insurance wouldn't cover him (prior knowledge). And I'm disabled, too, so it's pretty bleak. NOt necessarily hopeless, though. Thanks for any insight.

Voting Question: ::::Can i take someone to court for selling me a running car, then the very next day EVERYTHING broke on it:::?
So i bought a 1995 Oldsmobile Aurora from a co worker of mine, we were good friends and I got laid off so he said he would sell it to me for for only $700 because thats all i had and he wasnt driving the car. I went to his house and it looked great and it was running so i bought it. Well i took it home parked it and went to bed. I woke up to go to school the next morning and it died on the way to school. It took me a month to get it to a shop because i had no money at all, and all the mechanics i know said they had no idea what was wrong with it. So after a month went bye the shop told me the car needed 8 new fuel injectors and there was water in the gas tank, and rust in the fuel filter and someone had messed with the fuel pump and it wasnt in properly.. I had no choice but to let them fix it and it cost me $820. Then they told me i still cant drive it because the Rear Breake lines were rusted and All of the brake fluid leaks out from a break in the line. Also The motor mount is bad which causes the Engine to Jerk Violently Back when put into gear, and that caused the Entire Exhaust System to snap off from the engine. What can i do about this i have no money at all because I thought i could trust him and now he wont even answer his phone. Can i take him to court and make reemburse me for the car and the work i had dont to it? Not to mention the month of insurance and the registration for the car. Sad thing is my fcuking Grandpa who retired from Ford and is a Mchanic did Inspect it...

Resolved Question: Property OWNERS, do you see yourself living in a...?
...camper/motor home, car/van or tent with these steadily increasing property taxes? Would not a state/county consumption tax & reduction in county/state services & employees be a better situation for property owners, than moving into a step van with your family? I mean PRIVATELY owned property is just that, PRIVATE! Why are American's even letting themselves be taxed on THEIR private property? Like property owners do all the purchasing/financing, upkeep & pay the insurance on THEIR property, why pay taxes on YOUR own "little" country? What's next, tax ya on upkeep & remodeling your OWN dwelling, geezh!

Resolved Question: Should bicycle riders have to license their bike and have liability insurance?
For the safety and financial security of all road users Cycle Riders (Bicycle, Tricycle and Recumbent) should be required to be licensed road users with liability insurance, vehicle registration, and a state issued license plate affixed to the cycle. Cyclists having no license, current plate, registration or not having insurance would incur the same penalty as a motor vehicle driver. The roads would be safer and road usage would be fair. Some tricycles are large and not childrens toys. Last century bicycles were licensed where I grew up. A woman here in this town was hit by a high speed cycle rider without insurance a year ago and she is still having surgeries and medical bills. Cyclists often ignore or just don't know the rules of the road. The State needs safe roads for all users. The fee revenue would be of use to the State as well. Riders under the age of 18 would be exempt.
