Resolved Question: Do I need a lawyer to settle a judgment?
if I am the holder. We are trying to settle a motor vehicle judgment after 20 years and when they pay me I know I have to give them a letter od satisfaction. Do I need a lawyer and would I have to share any of this money with the insurance company after all these years? The judgment is in my name.

Open Question: What can I do if the cop Illegally impounded my car?
Ok just yesterday I was driving to the court in central to pay a ticket... I live in Sacramento, California. I drive a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII, 2006, anyway I didn't violate any laws while driving. and I seen a Police of Sacramento Motor cycle officer on the look out. I drive by and he starts to follow me I park in the courtyard, and turns on the sirens. I am 20 years old male and my brother was in the car he is 18 we both have valid licences. The car is fully registered. I have Insurance as well. Everything as it should be almost just read on... So he asks for all my papers, I am courteous, polite to him. He looks to be a young male as well around 22-26 years old. So he gives me the insurance card and registration back and says can I see you license? I give it to him, but it is expired couple months ago, But I got it renewed at the DMV just a couple of days ago. So it is valid in his computer, he says nope i checked in the computer which he probably didn't, I actually believed him and just said "please officer I have been trying to keep my record clean can you please let me bro drive" with an attitude like I don;t give a F*** about you, he says give me the keys! I am Impounding your car. I am shocked and do crap about this I get out the car and he takes my baby away. leaves me hanging there with no ride so I am forced to ride the bus home.. 10 miles away not to bad. So i got my car back today everything cost me around $400. $131 for the release form. And $300 for the towing and storage. I got my car out today and went to the DMV to renew my license, and the lady tells me why do you need to renew your license when it expires on 09/19/09 I am pretty pissed off right now and I want my $400 dollars back and at least an aplogy from that jack ass, what can I do about the whole situation. I didn't deserve to be publically humiliated in front everyone. people coming up to me "OOOOH sucks for you man" a lot of people came up to me to says stuff like that... The reason he pulled me over was the exhaust was too loud, so I got a fix it ticket for that, and a ticket for driving with out a license. My car gets a lot of attention from police I got pulled over with same exhaust it was a cool chp and he said rev your engine , and he didn't give me a ticket for the exhaust he said it is not loud enough for a ticket... What do you think I should do?
